On November 14th with a thematic conference in Grand Hotel Sofia, GIS Alliance celebrated the World Day of GIS Technology. Traditionally, the event brings together professionals from around the world who use and develop geographic information systems.
The GIS Alliance conference has been part of hundred of similar events organized on five continents demonstrating how GIS technologies support and find wider application in all aspects of modern society. Special guests at the conference were Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Valentin Yovev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria Georgi Bakalov, Fernanda Lonardo and Gulnara Roll, representatives of the United Nations.
The presentation of "Geographic Information System-Sofia" Ltd. announced the newly introduced electronic services for citizens and businesses and presented the latest functionalities of the Internet application iSofMap.
The company's intention to implement new services such as Digital Data for Design - Layer Regulation, as well as a combined sketch with more than two layers was also announced.
At the same time, a conference "20 Years We Design the World Together" organized by ESRI Bulgaria was held in the Royal Hall of the Sofia Hotel Balkan (Sheraton). Representatives of GIS-Sofia Ltd. also took part in this forum, following the trends, developments and new applications in the products developed by ESRI.
